With Playstation (as far as I know) you always have to download the game if you bought a CD because there's only one license on it. So far so good, but now I was wondering whether Nintendo cartridges are also licenses or copies.

No, that's why the Switch doesn't need any memory space on the console (apart from game data and updates).
