Now to the question: Is it necessary to buy the game twice directly so that we can play independently on our own switch with our own account? Or can we only play with our accounts on one cartridge and then somehow transfer my data to a second new cartridge afterwards? In case we need two from the start: Can the Switch differentiate between the two cartridges without problems and without any overwriting of the scores on the system, if I e.g. Accidentally open my sister's game with my account?
No, the scores are tied to the accounts and not to the cartridges.
So you have to create a second account at switch to have your own game status.
No matter whose cartridge you use. When you start the game with your account you always have your game status.
