From what you have heard, what is supposed to be in it, I strongly fear that such prices will come about.

But it doesn't matter. If students have no money, they can make it palatable to parents and count it on the months / usage time.

Let's assume 5 years of usage time. That would be 60 months.

5 years online subscription = 300 euro

800 euro / 60 months = 13 euro per month.

If you don't charge the online subscription, then only 8.33 euro.

pretty cheap and "only" calculated over 5 years.

The price that is assumed (400 euro or 500 euro) seems realistic to me. The consoles are always a losing proposition in the beginning and are practically sold "under value". It only becomes profitable when manufacturing costs are reduced due to falling hardware prices. The profits are made with the software and the subscription models.

That would be a perfect price and it's relatively promising, besides, Sony really wants to get under Xbox so I doubt over 500 euro
