To be more precise, the question is about Rainbow Six Siege. With our Elo (platinum to slide) we often see that opponents / teammates play with a mouse and keyboard (we notice this when, for example, the player leans against it without aiming, which shouldn't actually go to the console. In our opinion it borders on it is cheating and we would like to know if you are allowed to do that and if we can / should report something like that. Should it not be forbidden - can you really just connect the two components to the usb ports and then you can start playing? Just ask out of curiosity, I have the opportunity to play on the PC myself, but I have no interest at all in using my workplace for gaming.
1. Leaning against without aiming is just a buff that can be done with a controller.
2. Yes. In Rainbow Six it counts as cheating that Rainbow Six officially said on Twitter and you can now be banned for it. (Anyone who says something else in either uninformed or you only think so because there are official mouse and keyboard adapters)
3. No, you can't just plug the mouse and keyboard into the Playstation because you have a controller emulator or adapter for. Most use Xim Apex (around 140 euro) because it has the most latency.
Spending 140 euro only to be able to play with the mouse and keyboard because the controller is too bad is embarrassing. Hope people like this get banned from Playstation / Xbox on Lifetime IP immediately.
Thanks for the answer. The problem is, we've never seen anyone we reported being banned because of that. After each report there's usually a confirmation that the report has been received and that it has been processed. We always got the message that no cheat was found. Have lost so many ranked games because the opponents are playing with the keyboard, that's just not fun anymore
A notification? You only get it if you report it directly to the Playstation, you have to report it in the game yourself. Playstation itself just doesn't allow a mouse and keyboard to Rainbow Six.
