I usually connected my sound system to the TV. Is the normal AUX connector and the optical audio output are both plugged into the TV. Now I've seen that my PS4 also has an optical audio output. What do I get if I plug the cable into the PS4 instead of the TV? Or is it in the end the 1: 1 same result? My thought may be with the monitor, which i have. D. Usually no speaker.

There's no difference for you.
Your PS transmits sound and image via HDMI. Your television then sends the audio signal on.
What do you need that for?
For example, I have a projector at home. Many projectors have nothing to do with sound. They have neither their own speakers nor an audio output. So I have to go over the PS.
No difference, as you say, it is only useful for a monitor that has no speakers.
