Broken headset microphone?

So I have a headset from Logitech, with a 3.5 mm jack plug. After half a year of use, the microphone started to rustle every now and then. It got more and more after the time and now the microphone doesn't work at all. When I connect it to the Ps4, the microphone is recognized but nothing is recorded. The sound comes through the headset as usual. Now my question is whether someone knows whether it is the microphone, the cable or the contact. I would be very happy to receive an answer.

The only way to find out or guess is by examining the microphone.

It still seems to have a guarantee. So return it and have it repaired. No matter what it is.
