Why does my Ps4 controller not work ingame?

My Ps4 controller doesn't work ingame, but it does in the menu. Can someone help me?

I had a similar problem and was able to solve it like this:

Press the PS4 button on the controller for about 10 seconds so that the connection is released - and then start the Ps4 again via the controller.

Otherwise, press the reset button on the controller longer with a thin object such as a paper clip.
