Hi, I have recently bought a VPN on the PC to properly exploit my network, now I wanted to connect the Playstation of my roommate with it via LAN (because the VPN, Nord VPN, nothing else allows)
The problem is now that if I want to connect my laptop with his PS4 does not recognize that, say the Ps4 indicates that a LAN cable is connected but he does not connect.
The only thing I have set for Nord VPN is that protocol has changed from UDP to TCP because otherwise it will not work.
The Playstation has already 2 3 times connected to the laptop but not since yesterday. Does anyone have any idea what you can do there? I'm really surprised
The traffic of your PS4 must go over the PC, on which the VPN tunnel insists.
You can theoretically enter your PC as the default gateway and then forward it to the router. Thus, both devices can be in the same network and the traffic goes through the PC.
If you want to connect the PC and PS4 directly you need a cross-over cable. Normally, the switch makes this but because you want to connect 2 devices you have to go this intermediate step.
If you do not have a router or something similar in your network, then the ip addresses within this network will not be assigned automatically…
either you grab on one of your calculators for a dhcp server:

or (that is my opinion the simpler variant. For the appropriate network connection static addresses assigns eg For the computer on which the vpn runs 192.168.100.1 and for all further devices, which you want to connect to it.So if you eg over a switch several konsolen connects then just end digit 2, 3, etc…
