The Ps5 is coming out soon. So I wanted to look around for a 4K HDR monitor. I immediately noticed this one: https://store.acer.com/de-de/acer-nitro-vg0-gaming-monitor-nitro-vg280kbmiipx-schwarz
However, I ask myself whether the monitor with HDMI 2.0 can output correct HDR at 4K? My Samsung Q55r70 TV also only has hdmi 2.0 and can play HDR 10+, but I read that it was Samsung's own HDR…
According to the technical data, HDR 10 is supported
HDR is supported from HDMI 2.0. However, 4K only runs at a maximum of 60Hz, which is not a problem because in most cases the PS5 does not manage a native 4K with more than 60Hz anyway.
Unfortunately only "simulated" HDR10. The smallest HDR class is the HDR400, which, as the name suggests, requires at least 400 cd / m² and covers a maximum of sRGB, i.e. Not even a different color space.
I was wondering, according to the data sheet only 8 bit color depth is supported, that doesn't fit either

Unfortunately, that's just complete marketing nonsense from Acer. They try to fake real HDR by coming up with cheaper technologies.
