I want to buy an OLED TV and then probably a PS4 Pro. Is it a risk to gamble with a console on an OLED TV due to the risk of burn-in, or do I not need to worry about that?
No, you should rather worry about the Input Lag thought, for playing an LCD TV is still much better suited
Sorry, but that's nonsense. Look at the values.
Do you want to play over the PS4 for hours the same picture?
I'll tell you, if you just play a game and have a lot of static pics, I'd think so. If that is not the case, and you sometimes watch TV, there's less cause for concern.
No it is not, because the input lag of an OLED is a lot higher
I would like to gamble on games like FIFA COD Assassin's Creed and the like.
That's where the pictures move. So no problem. The burn-in effect is there, but not nearly as fast as you think. Furthermore, the manufacturers have already controlled it and taken measures against it. In normal home use that should not be an issue anymore.
You already realize that the input lag is mainly caused by the processor (which has nothing to do with the panel type)? Add to that the reaction time of the pixels, which is much lower with OLEDs (about 10x!) Than with LCDs.
Can you please post your source. I have a list of a great page myself, and that says something else.
Still, static elements are common, even if 95% of the image content is moving.
I speak from my own experience with OLED televisions
Sure, you notice 5ms difference immediately, and the people who measured it with gauges just invented the readings…

And tell me, because of which technical basics the alleged difference comes together?
I compared a good OLEd with a good LCD and the LCD was much better for gambling
But that was not the display type, but other, individual differences between the devices!
Sure, both were pretty good, once a Samsung 43 incher and once a Loewe 75 incher
I believe you, that you have experienced it so, but look at the table (link above).
So if you want to play a lot with the console then an OLED TV is not so well suited? Which would then be the first choice as well as to watch movies and TV shows.
I would not say that unless the same static elements are constantly present, and that should not be the case with you, nothing will burn.
