I'm just looking for a new PS4 game and I think the Battlefield series could appeal to me. So far I have not played a single part and thus no previous experience. Do you think I'd better buy the first part first or the fifth, the latest? Normally, you always start with the first part, but the fifth part could possibly be a bit better than the first, because the developers are always trying to improve on the worst of the predecessors. What would you recommend?
If you want to start with the first Battlefield part, I think that would be Battlefield 1942. For the PS4, the oldest playable part is Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 4.
Personally, I would go straight to Battlefield 5. There you will find enough players and have a game that is still being developed.

I'm a huge Battlefield fan and have played both games in detail, here my experiences:
Battlefield V:
The graphics are of course better than their predecessors BF1 the gameplay has changed slightly. If you play and like Battlefield 1, you may not like Boyfriend V like me.
The game is extensive, but new content will be delivered gradually.
Compared to Battlefield 1, the maps have worsened, everyone runs wild around.
Also, interaction with players has gotten worse and there's no spotting anymore.
The weapons are rather boring and there are few. But there are several skins for each part of the weapons.
Conclusion:
Somehow, Battlefield V looks too colorful and crude to me, it just is not fluid and has the flair like BF1.
Battlefield 1:
Liquid, extensively complete - the shooter of recent years.
Very realistic and a feast for the eyes, if you have dealt with the first world war.
Price justified at 12 euro, the game is complete and offers a number of weapons for which to get beautiful skins.
The cards are lovingly designed and beautiful, they cover all aspects of the First World War on different continents.
Playing is just fun, everything goes together, team play, spotting, healing… You get into the game quickly.
The music is epic, perfect and adapted to the game.
I think you can tell which game I definitely prefer. Also, the reviews support my opinion, Battlefield 1 was often awarded 90 out of 100 points in various magazines. Battlefield V has trouble starting because of the unrealistic trailer and sold rather badly compared to BF1. Also hate it still hate for the women's debacle, this is what I do not say…
Also, BF1 expresses the horror of World War One well, it's not just wild rumblings and explosions.
Conclusion:
Battlefield 1, best multiplayer, beautiful graphics, the best weapons (wet dream every BF1 player), great maps - just a sleek shooter who has everything you need.
