Gaming monitor ps4 / 144Hz?

I'm still looking for a monitor for the ps4. For me it is mainly about a low input lag.

Does anyone know how it behaves at 144Hz on a ps4 that only runs at 60 fps? Are there any disadvantages with a 144 Hz monitor? Does the monitor convert the 60Hz into 144 Hz and thus has a higher input lag? Otherwise… Is there a monitor recommendation for a ps4 monitor?
p.s. It's not about money because I have planned around 300 for the monitor. I would like to know whether a 144 Hz monitor on the ps4 affects the latency or the input lag.

Gu

A 144Hz monitor won't do you any good with a Ps4.

Mo

In any case, the input lag is so low across the board that the differences are negligible. At 60Hz anyway, and the PS4 does not output more.

Ke

The input lag is actually always the same for consoles.

It doesn't matter whether you have a 60hz, 72hz or 144hz monitor.

In addition, the console can't convert 60hz into 144hz, which is not possible with the Playstation in terms of performance.

And since the Playstation 4 only displays most games in 30fps and it is advisable to switch on Freesync, a 144 monitor is not worthwhile, since most Freesync only support between 48 and 144hz and it stutters at 30 fps.

Thank you for your prompt reply. The question is now… Does 144 Hz have any negative effects when I gamble with the ps4 at 60 Hz? With 144 Hz you are also a bit prepared for the future

So much misinformation again…

Multiplayer games in particular usually run at 60 FPS on the PS4.

The PS4 is not FreeSync compatible.

Just because FreeSync usually only takes effect from 48Hz does not lead to stuttering at 30Hz. There's no connection at all. The stuttering is caused by inconsistent frame times.

Ke

But the Ps4 is Freesync compatible!

Just like the Xbox!

And the stuttering occurs because the monitor and the graphics unit are no longer synchronous but asynchronous

Mo

Unfortunately not true again. The XBox has Freesync, the PS4 doesn't. Google it.

And the monitor and graphics unit are always in sync with VSync, and practically all games on the PS4 have VSync on.

Jo

That's exactly why the questions… Everywhere people disagree.
So again specifically:
It is now clear to me that the ps4 runs at 60 fps.
I also know that a 144Hz monitor is unnecessary.
But does it have any disadvantages if you still buy a 144 Hz monitor that you notice while gambling?

Ke

No, you don't notice any disadvantages
