He said we should run directly through Paypal that he saves the fees on eBay and then removed the offer on eBay. Was okay too I could understand. So I bought directly through PayPal with Buyer Protection. A few days later, the CE arrived. Unfortunately, this was not new but had already damaged the packaging. The content of the protected in the box was also damaged but this definitely can't happen during transport. The seller does not seem to care that much instead he asks me to send 255 euro via Paypal via the Friends and Family feature then he would send back the other amount I paid. Then I would have 10 euro. Did not do that of course and have also told him that 10 euro are too little for the various shortcomings. The CE should have been new. Now he does not answer. I asked him to solve the problem together with me otherwise I turn Paypal on. Is not that scam too? The damage can't have occurred during transport. How would the legal situation be? Also, he does not have the text on eBay: private sale no guarantee or redemption. I would be very happy about an answer and thank you in advance for your effort

There's no buyer protection outside of eBay. One must even be careful that this practice (set first, then take out when buying bid) is not followed. Likewise it is with abuse of the friends function with PayPal. This is not meant to save commissions.
