Unfortunately, my PS4 broke a few days ago. One of these small metal pins from the HDMI port has broken out. (Yes, it was my fault.) Wanted to connect a cheap HDMI-DVI adapter cable. When it did not want to go in, I pressed again, and that was probably too tight and destroyed the port.) Now the PS4 is still running but without HDMI I have no picture of course. Since the PS4 is already three years old, it unfortunately has no guarantee.
I did a little research on the internet. There are a few repair shops, such as Konsolenreparatur.de or Unitechnix.de, which offer a HDMI repair and thus demand between 60-90 euro. Are such shops serious?
Although they offer repairs on the Sony side itself, but it costs 150 euro. At the nearest media market, I also called once, but could not make a price statement over the phone. (Since I have always heard that the media market also sends its equipment to be repaired to the manufacturer, I assume that it will cost 150 euro there too). And other big electronics stores like Saturn or a Gamestop are too far away from me. (Live very rural).
Now my questions. Is the repair worth it for an old PS4? And if so, the expensive ones at Sony or the cheaper ones at the online shops? Or should I go to the media market and hope that it is cheaper there than at Sony?
Go to media market ask but any online shops I would not trust
