The PlayStation 4 consumes 8.5 W of power in standby mode. Calculate how much electricity a PS4 owner would save each year if they always turned off their console instead of going into standby. (Assume that the console would otherwise be in standby mode for 8030 hours a year and cost 19 cents per kilowatt hour) Give your result in euro, you can also round sensibly.
You already have all the information. Why don't you calculate it yourself? Time times performance times price.
What price? The 19 cents?
Yes of course. You said that
8030 hours x 8.5 watts = 68,255
Since the 19 cents stand for kilowatts, you divide the result by 1,000.
68,255 / 1,000 = 68.26 kW
The price for 1 kW is 19 cents, so:
68.26 kW x 0.19 EUR = 12.96 EUR
I usually don't do homework, but I'm just so bored. 😒
And how much does it save? I hope you can figure it out yourself. 😃
Alternatively:
8030 x 0.0085 x 0.19 = EUR 12.97
But that presupposes that you know that you have to divide the 8.5 by 1,000 (to get kW).
What grade did I get? 😂😂
