For example, if I play shooters where you would rather have more FPS than nice graphics, I play games where you would not otherwise get to 60 FPS or on my parents' television that does not have 4K, I would like to reduce the resolution to have more FPS. I know that in some games there's a performance mode where the settings are lower to have more FPS, can you do that with the resolution? I find that height settings are more important for the graphics than a high resolution.
The maximum in a performance mode would be 120fps.
I guess that your TV only has 60hz. With the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 you can achieve constant frame rates without problems, even if it doesn't look so good on the Playstation.
