In advance the info:
I hardly know the topic, so if I name something wrong or describe it I'm sorry.
So I have the following problem: we have a Fritzbox 7360 at home and are the provider EWE. EWE is the provider that can guarantee the best possible management on site (live on the edge of a small village). However, the Wi-Fi is very weak… If I want to play Ps4 and other devices connected to the Wi-Fi, I can play almost nothing and otherwise only with a high ping. My room is still very far away from the router.
Now to the question… Is it possible that I have in a household 2 providers or a provider but 2 completely separate WLan networks?
If so, how should I proceed?
Would like to have its own WLan access only for me.
Get a repeater and set the dataset priority for your PS up.
There are Wi-Fi amplifiers. 2 w-lans would probably bother each other.
Can't connect with Lan cable?
What exactly is a repeater and what exactly can I do with it? Just set the priorities? What do I need to pay attention to when purchasing?
I have an amplifier, but that does not bring much because the Wi-Fi performance is generally very low. There would be a new Wi-Fi but more effective… If it works I think.
Long cables would have to be laid from the bottom up to the top of the house with pets, that unfortunately does not work
The Wi-Fi has only limited to do with the DSL provider. Maybe you only need a better modem router with Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is home network, you have to fix that yourself. DSL is a public network, but your provider is responsible.
2 DSL providers in the same apartment / house is only if two lines are available. That's probably not the case. In addition, it would cost twice as much.
One or two wireless repeaters may be enough to have a good reception. First of all, you should first test how fast EWE's internet connection is. You could do this directly next to the router and then measure the speed with your mobile phone via Wi-Fi. The best way to test this is when nobody else uses the internet.
Then you know what maximum speed you could theoretically get on your PS4, if you use a repeater and the reception is good enough.
Can you tell me by chance how I can measure it?
Open Chrome on your phone and type in "speedtest".
You have to put the amplifier in a place that is between the FritzBox and your room. Try speeding with your phone in different places and try to find a place that is as close to your room as possible, but at the same time you have full speed.
Here is another video:
However, such an amplifier only amplifies the incoming signal, and if that's already weak, that's of course nothing. Cable then but not synonymous. Only just goes 2 w-lans not synonymous, with only a telephone connection. Would probably only help a new provider, but can only use the cable, which is there…

If the FS still wants to spend money, maybe even helps a private surf stick?
