PS4 controller with DS4Windows, only the touchpad works?

Hi, I connected my PS4 controller to my computer using a Bluetooth dongle. Now of course I want to try the device right away and have downloaded DS4 Windows. But now when I go into game, my controller only responds to the touchpad, i.e. Nothing else. I can only use the PS4 controller as a mouse input. It seems to me that the controller has been set / recognized as a mouse. Now I wonder how I can change that or can it be changed at all.
