New contract?

I still have a contract with vodafone for a few months (canceled with confirmation)

with a cable contract

this is a

Red intenet & phone 500 with up to 500 mbits download

50 mbits upload and have a few questions 2-4.

I'm always on Wi-Fi which is unfortunately very bad and breaks off

share plays are not possible on ps4 or only a few seconds before the dressing. Now i'm looking for a new contract and want to know

Obs what is better than cable internet, probably wants another provider.

Is DSL or VDSL better than cable

what is important to me is a very stable Wi-Fi connection with gutn ping

you also need 4 hours to load a game with 25 gb on the console, i don't know whether that is good or bad

4 hours for 25 Gb

I've never done a speed test or anything.

When I make a new contract

then for example

Telekom magenta at home m

i just don't know how telekom is has never been there

what is important is a very fast and stable Wi-Fi

a wlan the example 25 to 30 gb can load in about 60 minutes if that would be possible at all instead of 3-4.5 hours

at telekom you can also add a hybrid lte

Maybe someone knows what is meant by that

as a customer of o2 or telekom do you already have experience regardless of whether it is good or bad

landline and internet customers only

and my last question

When can you make a new contract if the old one is still running 2 weeks in advance or when.

I would pay up to about 40-55 euro a month

but good fast inet probably costs from 70 euro a month or almost 100 euro a month, so more than 55-60 euro

Basically: How good your Wi-Fi is has nothing to do with the cable internet, but with your Wi-Fi adapter, the Wi-Fi router and the obstacles and sources of interference between these two.

Ev

WLAN has nothing to do with the provider, who ensures that the Internet comes to the telephone socket, whatever you do with it (which WLAN router, LAN, etc. Is up to you. For a stable WLAN, however, I can use the Fritz! We recommend boxes, for greater ranges they also support mesh repeaters from in-house. For 30 gigabytes per hour you would need at least 128 Mbit / s. Of course, M is not enough at home, it only has 50. And then you still have to have the speed bring to the console. Tip: LAN cable! I can also help you in more detail, just write me!

Telekom experience: the 100Mbit we booked arrive very stable at the router. As I said, I'm responsible for everything else.

Ev

Addendum: With a purchased router, without television and LAN cable, you can get the speed you want for less than 60 euro if the network is expanded accordingly.

hy

Ok theoretically I can get better Wi-Fi with a new better router so much faster that instead of 3 hours for 30 gb one hour for 30 gb and more stable without changing the tariff provider if I have 500 mbits downlaod or is that alsch

As has already been correctly written here, the reliability and speed of your W-LAN primarily depends on the end devices used.

In this regard, ABCD1910 has already given you a good tip with the Fritzbox and the matching mesh repeaters from AVM.

We offer such mesh repeaters in the form of our Speed Home Wi-Fi, which are also suitable for our Speedport routers.

In short: what is mesh?
Unlike a conventional W-LAN repeater, which receives the router's signal and only throws it a few meters further, Mesh repeaters, just like the router, set up their own W-LAN network (under the same W-LAN network) LAN name). This enables Mesh to ensure far better and more reliable Wi-Fi coverage.

A direct connection via LAN cable is of course always preferable.

You have already looked at our MagentaZuhause M tariff.
Our MagentaZuhause L tariff with up to 100 Mbit / s in the download could be all the more interesting for you for gaming (speak from personal experience.)

With a router from us (the Speedport Smart 3) and a Speed Home Wi-Fi Mesh Repeater, you would pay around € 55 per month for this tariff.

I would be happy to check for you whether we can provide this tariff at your address. Please fill in our https://www.telekom.de/...ecked=true.

I will contact you.

Ok short for me to understand

I can even if I have the right tariff example 500 Mbits download with a new and modern device get a better Wi-Fi performance which you then also notice example 30 gb with the old device 3-4 hours with the new device 50-70 minutes

I'm sorry I don't know about the new technology

Ba

First of all, it would be interesting to see how much of these 500 Mbit / s download actually arrives directly at the router. Then the next question would be which devices you currently have.

With a cable connection you need a different router than with a DSL connection. However, AVM also has Fritz boxes in its range. With the matching mesh repeaters from AVM, you could then definitely improve your current Wi-Fi network.

A connection directly via LAN cable is not an option for your console?

hy

Ok hope i don't bother

I once did a speed test in the last few minutes with me about 52 mbits in download and 63.9 mbits in upload and ping is 18 ms

don't know my way

Ba

Don't worry, you don't bother.

On which of your end devices did you perform this speed test? Next: How is this end device connected to your router? A speed test via W-LAN is unfortunately always not very meaningful.

Please see how you can access your router's user interface. This can be reached via an address in your browser. (With our speed ports that would be e.g. Speedport.ip.) Of course, I can't tell you how it is with your router.

On the user interface you should be able to see which upload and download values arrive directly at the router from the cable.

With a MagentaZuhause L tariff from us, you would have, for example, a higher bandwidth in the download. (If this is possible at your address.)

A ping of 18 ms is very good.

I'm in the router

Ev

Yes, it has to be easy with 500 Mbits. Theoretically, because that is only a maximum value that is not so stable, especially with cables. With DSL the maximum value is lower, but basically always available. Still, it really has to work, it's simply due to your Wi-Fi connection. As I said, try a LAN cable, at least as a test for comparison. Because a new router can change something if your current router is already e.g. Is very good, or you just have very thick walls, the change will be minimal. You could try to hang a repeater halfway between the router and the Playstation if a permanent LAN is not possible.

hy

The test was done on the pc and is connected to the Wi-Fi

Maybe it helps to change settings in the user interface or to change the channel so everyone would like to have my at least 150 m bits on my console.

Ba

You can of course try that. See if it helps if you give the 2.4 and 5 Ghz different names. You can also try changing the channels on which the two frequency bands broadcast.
