So I want to record YouTube videos, and I thought about getting Elgato but there's a problem and I could read in some forums that you can't record the PartyChat and your own voice at the same time on the PS4. Can someone please enlighten me would be really nice.

I want the game sound when recording, so PartyChat so my colleagues / friends and my voice are in the recording. Do I need anything else?

have a PS4, HEADSET and MAC and want to get the Elgato for the recordings. Do i need iw in addition?

or

PS4, HEADSET and MAC

That's pretty stupid config I've read so far.

Elgato is also a bad choice when it comes to video chat.

Especially if you want to put it on YT afterwards.

I use a simple PC with 32 GB Ram, AMD CPU and AMD GPU.

Then a Linux distribution (Linux Mint) and the tool Vokoscreen. So I use a very old cam (at that time intended for the PS2, then called Eyetoy) via USB sound and video, which is 100% sufficient for YT.

I run the videos via VLC media player and convert them into an appropriate format at the same time, where they can also be used smaller and therefore better in YT. Likewise, the live stream is significantly lower than with other comparable programs.

Sorry for the long link, have not found a better picture currently.

Got 2 of the cams that take good pictures.

For pure voice or voice chat, I use Mumble. Either way, that's better than Discord's team peak. Can also be easily added to the video, provided you have the necessary bandwidth.

You can generate the stream via the PS4, route the stream to the PC that records everything and finally convert it via the VLC and drag it to YT. With Live, the conversion via VLC is omitted.

With Mac you really only have problems here.
