Charge PS4 controller with USB extension?

Hey guys I have a question, and I don't have a particularly long USB cable but an extension instead, so where you plug the cable in and then into the front of the PS4. So that I can also play while charging. With such an extension, does the controller load more slowly or is there even a delay?

It makes no difference whether long or short.

Shouldn't make a difference.

Works fine. Charges even when playing, but then slower because energy is consumed at the same time.
