I accidentally shot a teammate today because I "shot" through an opponent and the mate was behind him got friendly fire and my mate was either too stupid or didn't want to deactivate it although you clearly knew it was accidentally. And then shoot me in the next round. [Was on the PS4]

Pretty much every gaming community is toxic.
The community doesn't. However, there are some. And individual negative experiences are always in people's minds rather than many positive ones, which is why many would tell you that everyone is like that. It is an aspect of human imperfection.
I've been playing Rainbow Six for hundreds of hours - also on the PS4 - and maybe could use a hand to list when people were really toxic. But I can't count a hundred, how often Randoms have done their job well or at least have contributed nothing negative.
