How much should a good computer cost?

I'm looking for a computer for my son with which he can carry out his homeschooling / studies without any problems!

The PC should be up to date and have all the functions that you need for online learning / online lessons!

Can you give me a price range or a model that meets these requirements?

Thank you very much!

P.S. He already has a screen because he uses it for his Playstation!

If you want to be future proof and he doesn't want to gamble on it, i would give you a price range of 400-450 euro.

Thank you for your answer AnonymesSchaff!

So, if you don't buy the cheapest and worst of all, then they can all keep up with office work today (as I always call it). The size of the monitor or the number of monitors is then the biggest question that needs to be answered.

In terms of performance, you only really have to pay attention to what you buy if you want to play games on it. That is the crux of the matter.

dr

Many thanks for your response!
A monitor that he already owns is sufficient and the PC should really only be used for work!
Can you recommend a computer to me?

Gl

For office / surfing / teams something like an Asus PN50 is enough, a total of 450 euro

A good price would be 350-450 euro for these requirements. Used you can do that for 150 euro.

I could make suggestions to buy one in Switzerland, but since you use double sen in your answers, I assume that it won't be of much use to you…

but… Models from HP or Lenovo are quite good

Personally, I think you should have 16 GB of RAM and maybe the SSD should be big enough…

But, of course, it all quickly becomes expensive… The cheapest thing I could find now, which will surely meet your requirements, would be the "PC 290 G3 MT i3-9100" from HP (but only briefly checked what is in it, it has with me now only 8 GB RAM, but… Well… Could be expanded)

maybe this is a good starting point to look further

dr

Thank you for your effort and the explanations!

Unfortunately, I don't know too much about all of "technical Chinese"!

I will pass this on to my son!

So if he doesn't use the PC for gaming, as already said, a not so expensive one is enough, since you don't have to invest money in the graphics card. I would say that a PC in this price range will do:

Hope that helps.
