Tv picture freezes?

Thanks for your help.

I bought a tv from Sony on October 14th, 2020. The KD-65XH9005. The device crashed 8 times in the first seven days. The crash works like this.

The picture freezes and a constant loud sound comes from my Harman Kardon system. It freezes quasi picture and sound if you will. If the last letter was an "A", you will hear this A for about 10 seconds and the image will stop at the said letter.

The device then switches itself off and on again. This takes about 20 seconds in total. I have already contacted Sony several times. Even a technician was sent to me. However, this has only been reset to the factory settings and said it would be fixed. However, I have already reset the device several times. I also issued Bravia Sync etc. On instruction from Sony Support.
the software is up to date. The cache is empty, or 32mb is still inside. The problem arises with no clear cause. Sometimes when switching on, sometimes when switching, sometimes while something is running or while I'm playing Ps4.
connected to the device are only a ps4, an antenna cable and, optically, the system. Not more.
As I said, I bought the device for 1363 euro less than 4 weeks ago. Sony finally said it would be because of the software. I should wait.
Do you have an idea or a tip?

If the TV doesn't work properly, I would contact the seller. He should have it repaired or repaired.

And if he doesn't get the problem fixed, he should take the television back.

Mo

I have a previous model myself and have never had such problems. My first advice would have been the system update too.

You can still test whether a connected device provokes these actions.

Otherwise this is absolutely unacceptable and a case for a complaint.

Ever heard of warranty rights?

Report this DEFECT to the seller, who then has to take care of everything else!

And don't let this seller refer you to Sony. The contractual partner and contact person is the SELLER / DEALER.

If you bought the television online, you can even cancel the purchase, provided that you are within the cancellation period of 4 weeks!

na

Return the device immediately and withdraw from the purchase contract. They also seem to be incompetent. And the purchase price wasn't a small amount either, that's how I would do it. Do not be fobbed off you are entitled to a functioning device… BASTA, …

na

He still is. Device on October 14th Bought.

na

Repair? He is entitled to a faultless device. Immediately withdraw from the purchase.

dr

Depending on where the television was bought, there's no right of return!

dr

How do you know that there's a right of return?

na

You're right. But if you buy it online, you can return the device within 4 weeks.

Le

Bert is a "clairvoyant" 😜😁

na

I just checked the net and it says 14 days after purchase that devices can be returned. My mistake… Sorry…

I'll just comment on the last post now! Thanks for your support! Far better than Sony's hotline. They said after 30 minutes I probably only have the switch-off timer on 🤦🏼♂️ Thank you! Media Markt sends someone over. You pick up the device again. I withdrew from the sales contract. Then I'll get a new one.

should I stay with the model? Need one for the Ps5.

dr

However, the law only provides a 14-day right of return.

dr

This is also not entirely correct without knowing where the product was bought.

Only 14 days are legally allowed.

Le

Hello Rüdiger, things bought in the store can't and must not simply be returned, there's no such legal right. The only exception: the seller / dealer offers this right voluntarily.

This right is only legally anchored in online purchases (revocation). This must then be expressed within 14 days of receipt of the goods. Here, too, the dealer can of course voluntarily extend this period.

Laws can always be improved, but not made worse, that would not be permissible!

Le

Which an online retailer is allowed to extend voluntarily, which is not uncommon, especially nowadays, which is why I did not go into this further.

Since the questioner was talking about 4 weeks here, I just assumed that this would be the case here.

But of course, you are absolutely right, legal. Are anchored for 14 days! 👌👍
