I recently bought a Beyerdynamic Custom Game and, frighteningly, found that the microphone sounds really bad in the game recordings and in the party chat. I was able to improve the quality significantly by not bending the mic 2 cm above the mouth as indicated, but by stretching it straight forward. The quality is still worse than before with the HyperCloud 2! What can I do to increase the quality and achieve the "studio quality" that Beyerdynamic advertises with.

I think "studio quality" is difficult to get on the PS4. Nevertheless, you should see whether the headset microphone is a directional microphone. That means whether the microphone picks up the audio correctly only in one direction.
That shouldn't be the problem, the microphone is pointing towards my mouth, but thanks in advance.
The strengths of Bayerdynamic are more the speakers and they are also more suitable for music production.
For example, I use one for my electric guitar.
I have a Senheiser GSP 300 for gaming and have no problems.
Among other things, it is important that the microphone has ne noise suppression.
