WWE 2K19, How do I prevent a pin on my wrestler?

I got WWE 2K19 for Playstation 4 last year. It's actually fun, but I can't get out of the pin even in 1 against 1 matches against my opponent. He can even show a harmless action like a headbutt while standing. If he pints me, the match is over. Although I'm shown to have to press the X button to kick out. I've held the button down for a long time and pressed it several times in a row. My wrestler just can't get out of the pin. And he doesn't even have to be very exhausted. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or do I have to press another button in addition to the X button? About the same thing is the case with the submission moves. If an opponent has a grip on me, I hardly get out of there at all. Would be a real big help to me.

You have to hold it down until the bar is in the green area. Then let go.

Take a look on YouTube.

Okay thank you very much. Yes, it's been a long time since I took up a wrestling game and played it. The last one was Smackdown 2003. For the PS2. Control was still relatively easy then.

Ma

I found it easiest when you performed the moves with X (on the XBOX with A).

Yes, I don't know anything about the XBOX at all. When I've played games, which wasn't that common, I've been more Nintendo and Playstation fans. As I said, it's been a while since the last time I played a wrestling game. Where I haven't really made it any further, I created a wrestler myself there at 2k19. But I can't use it in the simple roster of the game. But I didn't create it in career mode but in the mode where you can create some other things yourself. Such as the belts, the wrestlers and their own arenas. More precisely, it's a female wrestler that I created for myself. But if I want to play a match with her in simple match mode, I can't. Because if I want to choose them I have to go to the self-made superstar option. And there's always a blue line in front of this option and that's why I can't select it. Did I forget something? These games are pretty complicated these days. They may be more extensive in their possibilities. But they are also more difficult to handle.

Ma

I can't help you with that either. My last WWE that I really played permanently was (I think) WWE2k16: D

Okay, thanks anyway.
