I recently got wipeout hd (fury) for the ps3 for 5 euro in the shop.
I know that I'm a bad gamer, which is why I gambled from the beginning easily, I have the first event of the campaign after some time and after I radically changed the control all gold medals have picked up.
In the 2nd event I already had a silver and 2 races I could not even get bronze (try for 1000)
In the 3rd I have not even the chance of a chance even in any race ne medal to get.
Oh yes, and in the Fury-Kampange things are even better, in the first event I've just got a bronze medal and nothing else, even though it's the first event. But I did not try that much longer…
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to upgrade my ship or something? I'm not so keen on the game anymore, even if it's easy to fail any attempts…
(I've never played wipeout before and did not know the ps2 title either, a friend only recommended the game because it was supposed to be really good and the graphics were pretty good and so cheap at the Playstation store)
Wipeout is generally a pretty challenging game, so as a beginner, you're not doing too much wrong. I also had quite a few bronze medals at the beginning. I would recommend you to use the air brakes more often to get through corners better. They are extremely useful. Besides, it might be better to play through every event completely, instead of going wildly back and forth between them. Time Trials and other things that you can do in the events help you learn the layouts of the circuits and thus find shortcuts and so on.
So, I have everything I can tell you. I'm not even a blatant Wipeout pro.
