I would very much like to connect my electric guitar to my PC so that I can hear the sound through my USB headset and practice quietly. I would also like to include the signal in my Twitch stream. Now the setup: Have a PC with all possible 3.5mm jack connections and a Behringer Xenyx 302 USB for my microphone. I've already tried the guitar plugged into the 6.3mm jack from the Behringer, which is connected via USB. The desk also reports the signal via LED but I have no idea how to make the signal usable / audible on the PC. Is there a free software or something?
Hi! For this you need a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), e.g. The free program Audacity. You can simply download it. With it you can record and make it audible.
You have to register the Behringer in Audacity as a sound source and then that should work. There are tons of explanatory videos for Audacity on the Internet, so you can see how it works.
