I'm actually looking for a decent electric guitar that I can use for Rocksmith PS4, as well as if I still have fun in music lessons. Price is second, but so far I've only played classical guitar and that's been 20 years!
The brands that are buzzing in my head are Fender, Gibson and Ibanez but I'm grateful for tips from connoisseurs.
I consider myself as a layman, however, after a few years not again looking for a new guitar!

You can't say it like that. Budget, taste in music, optics, demands on quality, feel, sound, preferences for types of construction, scale lengths or certain pickups… Without a restriction, that's really not to say.
