Is it allowed to take minecraft items as a Twitch subscription icon?
Difficult question. On the one hand, I would say very clearly that the pixel drawing or the pixel pictogram of a pick hook, for example, are not protected by copyright.
However, Minecraft as a brand is of course an identity that is shaped by its content and is of course protected in this way. Unlike, for example, the game principle itself - you can't protect that. This also applies, for example, to unique characters that shape the game.
So it would be possible to show tools or materials such as wood or stone in a Minecraft look, but not creeper. Of course, the sum also counts. If the sum of your icons copies the identity, then that doesn't work either.
If you want to be sure, create the icons yourself. You can use the original as a guide, but not copy it. Change it slightly and bring your individual note in.
OK thanks
