Make yourself a bot?

I recently read that some viewers of Twitch streamers are probably watching time. So they are permanently in the viewer list of the streamer and they are allocated view time, even though they are not in the stream at all. Is there such a thing or is it a Mhytos?

E.g. If you just leave your pc with twitch. Then you can simply make thousands of tabs on google chrome and be part of various streams. (Must be logged in everywhere)

Then mute the stream and do something else on the PC or be AFK.
