I like to play with my friends very big modpacks (usually 200-250 mods) I have currently assigned 2GB in Minecraft. The load is 100% throughout. Now I want to add more. I have installed 16GB of RAM about 15.xx usable.
How much should I add to Minecraft? What should be enough to have other programs running at the same time? (Steam, Discord, Chrome, Twitch and Spotify)
At the moment we have the modpack "Ultra-Modded-Survival" installed on the server. Which, as I said, permanently utilizes 100% Ram
I have 16 GB of RAM and assigned Minecraft 13.
The rest runs so synonymous still flawless.
Theoretically you can assign 8 GB synonymous if that is exaggerated. The rest should still run.
And these 13GB are never busy? Or is it in short supply?
Can I also assign 13GB like Fredbubi? Does that have any disadvantages? Is that even recommended?
So most of them are so busy 8, sometimes it goes up to 9 … Very rarely more. The whole synonymous with very large Modpacks me over 200 mods.
Ah perfect. Will I try out after work?
Yes you can.
That should have little pros or cons.
Give it a try. If everything launeft it is great.
Minecraft reserves everything it gets.
For me, Minecraft was limited to 4 GB, it was not about the 4 GB. Then I searched for something and could change the restriction.
So since I have built 32GB of RAM, I always like to 14GB RAM.
In the Twitch Launcher, I can't even allocate more than 12.5GB.
Java's recommendation is that not more than half of the system's memory is allocated to a Java application.
Even I would say, let 30% free, so about 10GB you can already assign, so stay about 5GB for the rest of the system.
