How much ram is best to add to games?

Wanted to know how much ram I should best gain in games e.g. With Twitch Launcher you can set how much Ram Minecraft you want to play with and if I only have 8GB, what would be the best option?

16GB is a must in my opinion.

Many say that you should only allocate about half of the RAM to a program. I never adhere to this rule myself and make sure that I always have 2GB "free". In your case, that would be 6GB, which you can assign to MC.

If you play other games besides MC I would recommend 16GB like other users.

However, it is only Minecraft and 6GB RAM is sufficient. I would be surprised if you take full advantage of this 6GB with Minecraft alone.

So it is true that 16GB Ram is not standard for game PCs for nothing. If you think about what e.g. In Windows 10, so everything gnaws at the Ram, it's not surprising. And the more up-to-date the games become, the less they use the Ram sparingly.

Hence the recommendation. 8GB Ram are sufficient for office / multimedia PCs. 16GB is almost a must for gaming PCs. If you still want to stream or do other video editing, you should even think about 32GB. And going up there's still a lot.
