Hello is it worth uploading with 1.4 Mbps to stream with OBS? 480p or 720p
Unfortunately I can no longer set 800 bit rate in OBS because my village line is too weak and I have now received the information that it takes about 2 more years until fiber optic is with us.
But I would like to build up a small community via Twitch, should I rather wait or stream 2 - 3 times a week with poor management?
Hope you can help me and maybe give some settings for OBS.
Unfortunately you can't stream at a bit rate of 800.
You already need an upload of the recommended 6 Mbit (6000 kbit / s). That would be the lower minimum to ensure quality & performance for the stream *.
As a guideline for the individual resolutions and standard settings, you can orient yourself on the following values or the required bit rate / upload:
720p ~ 2500 bit rate
900p ~ 4500 bit rate
1080p ~ 6000+ bit rate
For everything below 720p you don't even have to talk about it, since 720p should be the minimum to guarantee quality and performance depending on the game. Theoretically, a 3 Mbit UP line would be sufficient, but you should deliberately never use the full line & an approx. 20% buffer is always available.
* The upload can of course be a little lower to stream in 720p, but then assumes that you have constant availability of the upload. Eg. 720p with 4000 upload.
You yourself say you have a UP of 1.4 & can only use 800 kbit / s of it. So you are currently only about 60-70% of your UP available (about 30-40% fluctuation) & 6 Mbit are accordingly the better recommendation.
