I prepared an iPad Pro before me used to buy. It is mostly used to write notes in the university, but probably also to check out Youtube, Twitch, Spotify, Facebook or Instagram. However, nothing special. How long can I expect a device to work? For example, how long can I expect these activities to be possible on a 2017 model?

The devices have been around for a few years if they are handled accordingly. Only the battery can of course become weaker over time, but you can also have it replaced relatively cheaply.
