I have a Rode Procaster microphone that needs to be connected to a mixer or audio interface with an XLR cable to use it on the computer. The computer has an internal sound card (Soundblaster Z) built-in.
What is better to get the best sound out of the microphone? Either connect audio interface via USB, connect mixer via USB or via a mixer with 6.3 mm to 3.5 jack in the sound card. Sure, there are certainly more connections. I'm only interested in the best possible connection.
The microphone is currently running through the Behringer XENYX 302USB mixing console with USB cable to the computer.
I use the microphone mainly for TeamSpeak, Discord or twitch when buddies want to watch while gambling.
I would be interested in something else. My headphone is the Sennheiser HD700 with an adapter cable - 3.5mm jack plug to 6.3mm jack socket connected to my sound card (Soundblaster Z). Is this connection the best option for my headphone?
For the XLR condenser microphone you need an interface with phantom power - ie a direct connection to the sound card you can forget.
, Is this connection the best option for my headphone?
well, the alternative would be the connection directly to the back of the soundcard - but that does not change that much.
I would connect the Micro directly s.den sound card. Then the voice must first in the mixer and then anyway to the sound card.
The Rode Procaster Microphone is a dynamic microphone so no phantom power is needed.
The Sennheiser Hd 700 possesses a 6.3 mm jack plug therefore the adapter to 3,5mm goes directly into the sound card
And how do you think that works? The microphone possesses a XLR connection.
