Displayport => HDMI 2.1 converter?

I have a monitor with 144hz with DP and HDMI 1.x but would like to connect the PS5 to this monitor in the near future. This requires at least HDMI 2.0 for 120 fps.

Now the question is it possible to go to the PS5 via the DP connection on the monitor using a converter or converter cable and thus to achieve 120 Hz?

Info text for PS5:

To be able to read the signal from the PS5 or Xbox Series X / S you need at least HDMI 2.0 connectivity (for 1080p at 120 fps). HDMI 2.1 is required for 4K at 120 fps.

My monitor:

MSI Optix MAG271CR 27 inch full HD gaming monitor (1 ms response time, 144 Hz)

No, that doesn't work, adapters are only used to connect cables via detours, if you should now use an (HDMI - HDMI?) Adapter, the 1st makes no sense and 2nd does not work because the primary connection is HDMI 1.0 anyway, the signal is then simply sent through the adapter to the 1.0 port, so it is totally pointless.

I don't want to use the HDMI connection on the monitor, but the DP connection. So yes DP => HDMI 2.0

The problem is that not every 144 Hz monitor with an HDMI 1.4 port also supports the 144 Hz via this.

That's just one thing that has happened with monitors since 2016/2017.

That is why at least HDMI 2.0 is recommended, because this port actually supports it on every monitor that has it.

I would just try it on beforehand with the normal HDMI connection and otherwise buy the adapter.

Unfortunately no one read my question here.
It's about a Displayport => HDMI 2.0 solution.
The HDMI 1.4 connection on the monitor should NOT be used, as I can only use 60hz with it.

tu

Because I can only use 60hz with this one.

Are you just saying that

How about taking a look at your manual or the manufacturer's website with the specifications of your monitor?

It says the following:

Display Port: 1920 x 1080 (Up to 144Hz)

HDMI: 1920 x 1080 (Up to 144Hz)

With the HDMI 1.4 ports of your monitor you can easily use the 144 Hz.

Incidentally, I also answered your question about the adapter indirectly…

So read my answer correctly.

"To be able to read the signal from the PS5 or Xbox Series X / S you need at least HDMI 2.0 connectivity (for 1080p at 120 fps)"

This rules out the simple use of HMDI 1.4.
And if you read the specs on the website correctly, you'd see the
MAG271CR has the following there.
2 x HDMI 1.4 - 1920 x 1080 (up to 144Hz)

The part you quoted above relates to the Optix MAG241C and not the MAG271CR
