XBox controller goes net?

I bought an XBox One Controller (without wireless adapter) to play Rocket League on my computer. I found out that my computer doesn't have Bluetooth. Now I wonder if I could use my controller with a cable. (I have plugged in the controller several times but my PC does not recognize a controller.)

The is an official Microsoft controller made for XBox One. But somehow my PC does not recognize the controller (or when I connect my controller it vibrates only briefly and nothing lights up. When I press the sync button or something, it just continues to flash.)
