Using the Xbox Series X controller with a cable without batteries on the PC?

Can I use the Xbox Series X controller on my PC without always having to change the batteries? So basically that I use the controller on the cable all the time.

Well, I still have to buy the controller, so I wanted to ask first, because otherwise I would have bought this Play & Charge Kit.

Batteries can't be charged on the controller via cable. But it would work with the play and charge kit.
