Xbox Series X or PS5? Which console do you prefer?

Two new consoles are coming onto the market soon, namely the Xbox Series X from Microsoft and the PS5 from Sony. Now I'm interested in which console you prefer.

I can't tell you exactly. I actually prefer the PC.
Otherwise, as far as the consoles are concerned, there's still far too much uncertainty. Since I have a PS4 so far and the PS5 should be backwards compatible (no idea whether that is true), I will probably tend to the PS5.

Since I've always had PlayStation and their games are among the best there are, I will of course get the PlayStation 5, the PS5 mMn shows more innovation than the Series X!

And PC is already planned so…

It depends on what you want to do. As far as I know, the Xbox has always been more of a multimedia console, the Playstation for gaming. I would be surprised if it was different with the new generation.

The Xbox has been backwards compatible since the Xbox One.

But I don't really care.
A downward compatible console only makes more sense if you also have games from the previous generation.

I would not underline that exactly. Sony has taken the first good steps towards multimedia with the PS3. The Xbox 360, however, was more of a game console with some features.

After the great success of the PS3 in spite of the high price and a new architecture, Microsoft wanted to get involved in the multimedia area because they saw it as a big selling point of the PS3 (at least I suspect.).

As a disillusionment, a "Home Entertainment System" console came out, most of the features of which the buyers did not use at all… So also my opinion on the multimedia area of the PS3, which I almost never used. XD
