With Ps4 there are horror download times, several hours are not uncommon. Is that the same with the Xbox? I would be interested in the current and next generation of consoles (Ps5, etc.).

I can only say so much that if I run both consoles and download the same game which also uses about the same amount of memory with the same internet connection… They are both equally fast

With the current Xbox consoles, significantly faster downloads are possible, which is due to the better and higher quality servers that Microsoft uses compared to Sony.
The Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X will probably not really be able to increase the download speed. The SSD's are all well and good. But at least with Sony that doesn't do you much good if you have such latencies to the servers.
