Someone from England want to buy my Xbox one s Someone from England want to buy my Xbox one s - 1

Hi, I put my Xbox one S in classifieds with a few games 180 euro someone text me to send him pictures to an email, I did that.

He replies that he wants to buy my Xbox he gives me 230 euro for shipping etc. So far so good that he would like to pay via PayPal so as not to be ripped off, ok too.

Now I get an email from Paypal that 230 euro are reserved for me and as soon as I send the number the money is released.

he also wants me not to send with DHL because packages supposedly disappear there? When I ask why he doesn't buy an Xbox there, I don't get an answer?

the email from Paypal also looks serious

What would you do?

Gl

First important question

Did he make the purchase with friends or as goods?

Ta

I added pictures to understand

Gl

I don't see any yet

Ta

Has it been submitted it's really strange the Xbox doesn't have a regional code why doesn't he buy one in London? And why do I get an SMS with an email address where I should send pictures of the Xbox because you can't see the pictures in EBay classifieds? Have i been hacked?

Gl

It's strange

Have you ever looked closely at the PayPal email, does it look plausible?

I'm totally honest I wouldn't sell it to him

Ta

So I found the same text modules on the Internet and compared really brazen Paypal is well copied and the mail really looks like from Paypal 🤣

You are about to fall for scammers!

This is a known scam!
Keyword: "Nigeria Connection"
The mail is NOT from PayPal! Paypal does NOT send such emails!

DO NOT send the goods if you do not want to be cheated!
You will NEVER get any money!

Bl

Forget it. It's sad that people still believe that and take it seriously.

Google times: Nigeria Connection.

Buyers are reportedly all from England, Canada, Scotland, Wales and Africa
Buyers want to pay significantly more voluntarily and by bank transfer.
The goods are for the poor little daughter or the almost dead grandma.
You only want to continue writing via WhatsApp or email.
After handing over your bank details you will receive a fake email from a fake bank
Bank of Kanda e.g…
Or you will receive a FAKE EMAIL FROM PAYPAL THAT IS NOT FROM PAYPAL
The fake bank informs you that the money has been transferred, but for security reasons you must first send the goods and tell the fake bank the tracking number. Only then can the fake bank approve the fake transfer.

At the end:

You never hear anything again. You have been betrayed.

This bank and contact never existed.

Money gone - goods gone - you're the stupid one.

@ blubblub1912: "Most important question first"
No, you don't have to ask anything.
You can see at first glance that this is the well-known "Nigeria Connection" scam.

Luckily I didn't fall for it! I was suspicious because, firstly, he did not haggle, secondly, he did not answer my question about the regional code, thirdly, because my PayPal account was not noted, the mail had a spelling mistake and because I was first texted with a German number. Should i go to the police?

Bl

Can you save yourself. Generally speaking, the police are helpless.
The fraudsters sit abroad with false data.

Ta

Hmm ok

Fo

No, he doesn't want to buy your XBox but to get it for free.

So far, the fraudsters have made a transfer, so now it's PayPal…
And someone tries harder. Much better German, request a photo beforehand…

That's cheating! This is not how PayPal works. When paying with PayPal, your money is immediately credited to your PayPal account and not only after something has been sent. PayPal freezes money if at all for security reasons, but it still has to be displayed!

So: cancel contact and report (also goes online) against unknown persons (simply for the statistics).
As I said, that's the Nigeria Connection. People who sit abroad (mostly England, Nigeria) and buy technology from Germany. They pretend to pay by bank transfer and (recently) PayPal and get some email where it says the money would only be released after shipping - which is nonsense. Naive seller sends the goods and never gets his money. A scam that has worked well for years because people are too clueless and greedy for money… -.

Not for everyone
