If you bought a version in the shop or via mail order, a return / refund is generally not possible as soon as the sales packaging has been opened. In the retail / store either way, a return would only be possible on a goodwill basis (unless the store offers such a thing and has included this in its terms and conditions)

I wonder why you buy a game and want to give it back after half an hour.
Nowadays, you can get enough information in advance and almost exclude bad purchases.
Just because you find a title a little less good than comparable titles doesn't have to be bad.
Back then I wrote to Microsoft Support in a similar situation and I was refunded Fallout 76 at the time. However, this was a purely goodwill campaign; the game shouldn't have been reimbursed. I hadn't spent a minute in the game. Just give it a try, it depends on the support agent.
With the questions that are asked here in part, I sometimes doubt that the questioners are able to use Google and inform themselves.
