I would like to send my Xbox One x supported with my 4k monitor of 60Hz and HDR and then send by switching or so to an older 1080p FullHD TV, because I would like to clamp because of a Elgato Game Capture, which unfortunately does not support 4k.

What exactly do I need for a device and is that even possible?

So that I do not always have to replace the HDMI cable s.der Xbox.

Does it automatically switch from 4k to FHD resolution?

You need an HDMI splitter. The signal from one source (DVD player, satellite tuner, Xbox) is split via an HDMI splitter and sent to several audio / video output devices (TV set, monitor, beamer, possibly also switch).

You need an HDMI switch if you want to connect multiple sources to a playback device. In doing so, the switsch automatically recognizes the last connected channel and switches over to it or the channel is selected manually.
