Can I play the new xbox series disk games on the old one?

At the moment there are no Exclusive Series X / S games.

All Xbox games run on both consoles, One and Series. Only the optimized ones have the addition X / S on the top right of the pack.

That won't change anytime soon. At the moment only Motorsport 8 and Fable have been announced, which will actually be pure Series X / S games.
