My friends have told me that most of the PlayStation games (and also XBox games) that you buy on disc are not actually on the disc but have to be downloaded from the disc, which uses up memory space on the console, just like playing games the PS Store. I've never had a PlayStation, so I wonder if that's true because I never thought it was possible.
Additional question: If so, is the download from the disc rather fast or rather slow?
I thank you in advance for an answer!
The games are installed from the disc, similar to the PC, and of course they also need corresponding storage space.
Installing from disc is of course faster than downloading it. In most cases, smaller updates often have to be downloaded as well.
Many Thanks! Funny that I've never heard of it. Probably because I download most of the games online…
Personally, I actually download everything because I have a very fast line and that is simply more convenient.
I'm also not interested in the sometimes lower prices, but if you value it, you'll drive better with it. If you live in the village and only have poor connections.
Whether it is faster from the disc depends of course on the Internet connection. 🤷♀️ For me, download is much faster. Red Dead from disc good 2h. Download 20 min.
Yes of course. Got a pretty fast line too. (400k). I've never really measured the ratio, but now assume that not everyone has such a fast connection. 🙃
