I'm currently saving on the ps5 and I'm pretty confused about the digital edition and the disc edition: / I'm only 14 and logically I get less money, so the digital edition would be better because it is cheaper. I now have 250 euro. By the way, my birthday is in March. That means, by then, I can definitely afford one of the two.
By the way, I've heard that the games are more expensive digitally than on CD. Does anyone know roughly how much the prices differ? If it doesn't make a big difference, I would definitely prefer the digital edition. And could one still buy and download games on the digital edition that are not yet available on ps5 but only on ps4? I don't know about it like this: /
And in principle the disc edition is of no use to me either, because I don't have a PS4 and therefore no PS4 games with which I can gamble
Again the questions repeatedly: Does anyone know roughly how much the prices of the games differ from the digital and disc editions? Would it be possible to buy and download games from the digital edition that are not yet available on ps5 but only on ps4? Which is generally more worthwhile?
What do you all mean?
Games on disc are usually much cheaper
I would take the disc edition! You can buy used games and still hate the possibility of buying them digitally… Personally, I would save because, especially later, the prices in the store fall extremely later (digital of course not really)
You can also download PS4 games for the PS5. Theoretically, if you have PS + you get new games every month, so you can already download it. That digital purchases are more expensive is not always correct. There are digital discounts that are unthinkable for a disc. You won't get a game for less than 20 euro at the used video game dealer, there are PS + discounts with which you can get full price games for 5 euro or even less. I bought Far Cry 3 for 2 or 3 euro. I'll get the PS5 with a disc so I can play my old games there, but the digital one might be better for you, especially because of your wallet
There are often really great discounts in the store. Especially if you have PS +.
If you've already bought it, you can still play it
If you need a game for the first time (as a disc) at a bargain price somewhere, which still feels like the full price from the first day in the store, you already have the additional costs back in it.
And if you don't just watch Netflix and the like, so you still have films on discs at home, you save the player for it… Or you have one in reserve now.
With the disc version you keep OPTIONS open - even if you realize after a few years "I wouldn't have needed the disc version!"
Of course the option is good, so I'll get the disc version. But just for the option I think it's too expensive for him.
