Does it still make sense to gamble on the console?

I've been considering switching from the PC to the console for a while now, as it's just more relaxed in my opinion, despite the smaller console selection.

Nevertheless, a question has come to my mind earlier that I can't find answers to.

Does the console still have a great future?

I mean the pc has more choice, better graphics, more power and is much more interactive than a console. Many games that are developed directly only for consoles, sell not so good, as these are sometimes too much verbuggt. For example, Halo: Master Chief Collection on the XBOX ONE.

But maybe you can teach me a better one.

A console restricts you to certain areas, the benefits of a PC you have already mentioned. These are the advantages that keep me from gambling on the console. I had bought a PS4 because I just wanted to try it and wanted to play comfortably from the couch, but in the end I have sold the console again because the PC covers a wider range. I have now connected the PC to the TV and gambled from the couch with keyboard and mouse, when I play more intense games I go to the desk and use my gaming equipment.

The console certainly has its advantages, so I have, for example. Netflix / Amazon and Spotify like to run on the PS4, but I can implement the PC synonymous.

The larger selection of games on the PC is also very important to me because I'm someone who is not only on Triple-A titles like Battlefield and Co. But also like to try out games that are still in EA status on Steam. I have already found some beads from small and unknown developers who have tied me up for hundreds of hours, but at the same time were very cheap. An example would be there e.g. Factorio, I paid 20 euro for that and spent about 600 hours on it, so far no Triple-A title has been achieved. This is an example of many, even though Factorio is at the top of the league with its high playing time, a long way from the next title.

If someone has the choice between PC and console, so I give the recommendation to the PC. One must not forget that a PC is quite more expensive than a console, but on the other hand you have with the PC but significantly more options. The PS4 cost me then around 400 euro, my new PC cost me nearly 4,000 euro and I reckon there still the whole other equipment with a VR glasses, monitor and peripherals then there's again a good rod on it. It was worth it, because I have a lot of options that I would not have on the console.

But if friends play mostly on the console it would be worth considering to switch to the console, otherwise you will be alone. But then these are considerations that you have to make in each case.

On top of that, your spending on your PC is completely unnecessary and somehow irrelevant to any gamer, since half of the money will slowly get you to the FPS limit. You can also buy a PC for 400 euro, which nevertheless beats a PS4 performance.

The Xbox has just as exclusive titles, which are also extremely good. Halo, for example, is legendary.

One would have to define the person "gamer" exactly, so find out what claims exist.

Someone who just wants to play a bit and wants to do without frills gets away with a cheap box, but in my case I have much higher requirements and need more hardware.

My remaining equipment such as mouse, keyboard, monitor (s) and headset would also be cheaper, but that would not meet my requirements. In addition, I've imagined a VR glasses and so that this runs properly it needs sufficient power.

In addition, one would have to clarify where this FPS limit is. There may be many who claim more than 60 FPS you do not need because everything is not recognizable, but that is simply wrong. I play with 100 FPS and see quite a difference between 60 and 100 FPS, I also like to stimulate the games and put the settings like to top. I like to watch the games in their full glory, but that's a personal view. Sure, I also like to play Factorio and it would probably do my PC from 10 years ago, but there are other areas that make a stronger hardware necessary.

There are enough on 4K games want to get this resolution stable FPS on the screen it needs powerful hardware and this costs nunmal. I do not need a 4K and prefer to play with stable 100 FPS on QHD and high settings of the details.

I've had this discussion a couple of times with a few "pro gamers" who said they were the measure of all things because they play in the ESL, but this discussion has gone a long way since my view of the whole was never understood and only that counted what was necessary for the ESL.

Ultimately it depends on what you have for claims. If you want to play more current games fluently, but the graphics is not very important, then a PC for 800 - 1000 euro is sufficient and then you have a certain amount of time. I put my PC together the way I imagined it and so far I'm doing very well with it.

I see little sense in switching from the PC to a console. At best, I would buy a console for the exclusive titles.

An advantage of the consoles in the past was in my view the simple Plug n Play. You have a console and n game on a disk. Connect console, disk in and gamble. However, this advantage is synonymous rather less than more existent, since mWn synonymous on the consoles first updates may be loaded.

In the meantime, the console developers came up with the idea to release different consoles in one generation (PS4 / PS4 Pro, Xbox One / Xbox One X). That too is something that suits me less.

Then comes the variety of a computer. Apart from games, you can also work and surf without any problem.

In addition, consoles are closed systems. I'm not sure how simple the replacement of defective hardware would be and whether one gets the hardware at all without further ado.

Finally, there would be my aversion to first person shooters with gamepad. I prefer a control with mouse and keyboard. At the same time, however, I can connect a gamepad to the PC for other genres.

And what I forgot: On the PC I have to pay (mostly) nothing to use the multiplayer.

Halo has never interested me and otherwise I know of Xbox only autorennspiel exclusive. However, I do not play such games.

Halo is and remains the only reason to find Xbox interesting. For me personally.

I see it completely as you do, but only the same result with a PC is possible, which costs only half or less.
