Xbox one, really need that much thermal grease

Hello good question community, I have to apply so much extra Wlp again? I'm not so sure, usually only the chip with the Wlp must be well distributed. But was the intention made so that the components are cooled outside on the chip with? Or is that just sloppy work from Microsoft?

ar

Sloppy work. Would wipe everything out completely.

Thoroughly wipe away any existing paste, then add 1 small (maximum pea-sized) blob of paste to the middle (do not rub) and then assemble. Due to the contact pressure, the blob spreads automatically on the surface.

Neither, nor.

In mass production, you can't afford to waste time and money on something as unimportant as the "right" amount of WLP.

So it just claps so much that the arithmetic unit is covered with the highest probability. The same sit in virtually all industrial applications of WLP (ie, for example, graphics cards).

When "post pasting" you can then remove like that and work cleaner. Or maybe not, a bit too much WLP does not hurt unless it's electrically conductive.

Thanks for the answer.

Short question on the edge, is there better Wlp than MX4 or Arctic5? Excluded liquid metal, I can't handle xD

Honestly, I have always taken a standard paste, which you are quite sufficient.

Incidentally, there's often a fundamental misunderstanding here as well: this paste can, of course, conduct the heat, but its main purpose is to fill in the microfine irregularities (grooves, grooves) in the metal surfaces so that 100% contact is established a better heat conduction.

Ahh Achso and liquid metal fill out these bumps best.
