Ori 2 double jump Xbox?

I don't get any further in the game because I miss the double jump. I press A 2 times but the character still only jumps once. Should have already activated it but it doesn't work.

Theoretically you could check whether you already have it by going back to the location or checking your skills (only have Ori and the Blind Forest)
